You do not require a referral from your GP to make an appointment.
Rebates may be available from Medicare for 6-10 sessions per year under the Better Access to Mental Health Scheme. I am registered as a Medicare Provider. Check your eligibility with your GP. If you are eligible, ask your GP for a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)2710 and a referral letter. Please bring along your MHCP to the initial session. The full fee is payable by the client and the rebate can then be claimed from Medicare.
Alternatively, contact your Private Health insurance to determine whether you can claim for Psychological services.
Cancellations
If for some reason you need to cancel or postpone your appointment, I appreciate 24 hours notice, as I often have people waiting on a cancellation. I understand that sometimes a late cancellation cannot be avoided. A cancellation fee will be charged for appointments missed or not cancelled in advance.
